What is Pligg?

Pligg is an Open Source Web 2.0 CMS[[1]]. The main features that make Pligg unique are collaborative bookmarking, social networking, folksonomy[[2]] and blogging. Each of the News links, unit of pligg content, has a vote button, URL and optionally a short description of news. Here Visitors are supplier, consumer and judge of the content. Every visitor has right and freedom to vote and veto any news item. At the end of the day, depending on count of vote news are either promoted to main site,or move or remains in incoming queue, or permanently removed from site. Being a collaborative CMS, Pligg sites grow very fast in terms of traffic and popularity. [Pligg features diagram]

Spammers will often put their junk on wikis. Steps to bring back this page:

• click "history", and find the latest non-spam version
• click "edit" to enter into editor, select-all and copy
• exit, and go back to current version of this page, click "edit", select-all, paste
• save as a minor edit, indicating it as "anti-spamming"

There are a number of different sources for Pligg releases and module downloads.

Contains official Beta releases. A new one appears faithfully every two months or so.

Contains a listing of the releases from the Sourceforge Files page, with useful developer comments and changelog files.

The Pligg Forums have a download section. It also has links to the releases in the Sourceforge 'Files' area, as well as *language files, modules, templates* and even a tutorial or two.

• SVN Repository or Subversion

Subversion allows you to get the "bleeding edge" nightly code updates. These have fixes which will appear in future beta releases, but may also have bugs and are not suitable for production sites.
