I don't know if this is what you looking for but if you want to remove option from the top of the site (in standard tamplate), find file header.tpl and find this line:

<a href='{$URL_register}'>{#PLIGG_Visual_Register#}</a> &nbsp;&nbsp;

and remove it ...
