| Where to find a programmer for small mod [Paid work]
I know this isn't against the rules, but I apologise in advance if this is poor netiquette.
I only discovered Pligg several days ago but it would be useful for a small community website which I am setting up. However, I require a mod and unfortunately I'm not very familiar with PHP or javascript. I've attempted it myself, but some things are better left to professionals and I was hoping to hire someone from here if possible.
I'm happy to pay part in advance and the remainder on completion as long as a reliable user on here will vouch for them, and they can choose the payment method (as long as its well recognised). Also, I understand that this forum isn't responsible if anything goes wrong, and of course the finished product would remain open source. I'm also happy to provide a forum mod with my phone number, if necessary.
The mod I require is to the EVB button. I need anonymous users to be able to create or vote for a story (all of which can have the same title, if necessary) via the EVB button, without leaving the page on which the EVB button is placed, and without opening any other pages (though obviously it can send the necessary data to my server).
I believe this would require bypassing the login and authentication altogether, however, it is still important that users cannot vote more than once for each URL, and the icon must change according to whether they've voted or not. I don't anticipate anyone actually visiting the site, just using the EVB.
Essentially, I need a button which can be placed on any site (using the simple code used to place the EVB) which will allow anyone to create a story on my site (which only I will see) without having an account on my site. Also, each user will only be able to vote for each page once. It would also be useful if the standard SQL database can remain unmodded.
I imagine this would be quite quick and simple for someone experienced in PHP and javascript, and especially those familiar with Pligg. Probably little more than cutting out the relevant code. I would be grateful if anybody who's interested would email me with a quote and an estimate for how long it will take.
Again, I apologise if this is rude, but I thought it had to be the best place to look. Feel free to email me if you're interested.
Many thanks,
Mike.
Btw, speaking of netiquette, I'd like to thank Simon, Ash and all of the Pligg developers for creating such a great, open source platform. You're awesome.
Also, I'm using Pligg 9.9.0 completely unmodded.
