Exclamation Suggestion for RSS Importer

Currently the RSS Importer has the ability to compare titles of already posted items before importing. this is great. however if you mark an article as discarded it is then just re-imported again the next time the RSS importer runs.

Would be great if the importer could compare titles against ALL articles previously in the system.

I would love to see this implemented or if someone could tell us how. Sometimes there are stories on your feeds which you don't want or have been submitted by someone from another source. So you don't want the duplicate but you don't want it re-imported.

If anyone knows how to do this let us know

err, I beg to disagree; discarded is sort of deleted

you could queue it (for instance) and eventually drop the votes

What we are saying is, is there a way for the RSS importer to check the discarded stories for duplicates too. The discarded stories are still in your db, unless you remove them completely.

If you have it as queued it still shows on the site, which is what we don't want.

It has happened to me on a number of occasions where a story that was imported was just not worth having on the site. After I set it to discarded, and do a new import of that feed it will pick that story up again.

I would really like this implemented as well, it's a big issue. After all, you don't want to have to rely on reviewing imported content.
