.htaccess should be priority

This is just my opinion (obviously) but the priority right now should be the URL method and .htaccess file.

Right now (build 226) everything works internally as it should except the outgoing link to the actual story.

I can browse my site, search, sneak, do everything, with friendly URLS and the .htaccess file.

The only thing that doesn't work is leaving the site to read the linked story, meaning I can't use that method.

The reason I feel this should be priority is that there are many sites that are live and using URL method 1. They are being indexed (slowly) and cached by Google. All is well until such time URL method 2 is working properly and then they have to be indexed all over again and run the risk of Google's duplicate penalty.

Like I said, I'm no programmer or SEO expert, but with all due respect the URL method sets the structure and file naming scheme of your site and I think it needs to be nailed down first.

Again, just an opinion.

I agree canadapc I this is a very high priority as we moved toward beta 9.

No, everything is constantly being worked on. You can monitor the svn on sourceforge and the nightly thread here on the forums for updates as the happen. I was just stating that any bugs in url method 2 and anything to make it easier to implement is a high priority.
