Pligg8RC2: Top Stories sort order wrong

Using Pligg8RC2 (and RC1 for that matter), the Top Stories page gets the sort order wrong.

(MySQL 4.1.11, PHP 5.0.4 - apache2handler, Apache 2.0.54, Fedora Core 4)

Example: Item with 6 votes appears above item with 9 votes. See working example at:

Have looked at topstories.php but can't find anything wrong with the SQL statement that selects and sorts. I thought anonymous voting might have caused the problem (something to with karma but I don't understand that!) so I turned it off and removed anonymous votes from the votes table.

Would welcome some help/feedback as it looks silly and is driving me nuts!

This is weird. I just checked it on a site where I have 29 pages of top stories and only 2 stories weren't in the correct order.

I've just fixed the first couple of pages by edting the SQL tables directly.

I noticed that the votes.vote_type has two types of entry - links or comments. The number of records that are of type comments does not match the actual number of comments a link has in ANY case!

Weird indeed!
