Question Some bugs I've noticed in Beta 8.1

First off, let me preface this post with how impressed I am with the new Pligg Beta 8. There is no comparison between it and Beta 7. I would like to congratulate the development team on some amazing work.

As I've been playing around with it, I've noticed two bugs/issues ... and was wondering if I am the only one seeing these. I am running Beta 8.1.

1) Even though I set the max number of characters for the summary of stories to 350, I've noticed they still get truncated to about 250 on the link summary page (ie. shakeit.php or the main page). It seems that no matter how high you set it, there is some hard coded number that pligg will truncate it too.

2)On the sneak/spy page, new stories aren't updating. New votes and comments are both working for my install, but when I add a new story, while watching the sneak page in another window, the update is not auto displaying. If I refresh the page, it then shows the new story ... but it requires me to refresh the page, instead of dynamically adding it. I have my refresh set to 5 seconds for testing .... although I've tried a few different settings, none of which seem to fix it.

Any ideas?

1. Dang, I knew I forgot to do this... We need to mention that the database can only hold 255 characters for that text input so the max you can change it to is 255.

2. Hmm.. we'll have to look into that. Thanks for bringing it up.

I just did some testing and everything updated in real-time for me using Firefox except when stories were submitted in the queued status. Everything else, stories that hit the front page, comments, and votes all updated as I was watching the screen.

We'll have to look into why stories that are submitted aren't updating in real-time.

In internet Explorer there are javascript errors, but not in FF. The error says 'ts' is null or not an object and IE doesn't update anything in real-time.

Ahh, I was looking for queued stories ... as in when a user very first submits a new story and it goes into the queued news. Is this working as intended? Are stories only supposed to show on the sneak page when they are published to the main page?

Any reason that field couldn't be longtext instead of varchar(255)? I didn't code it so I don't know, but I'd think that'd avert the 255 limit?

It's been changed to text in beta 8.2.0
