Avatar upload weirdness

Hello,

When you try to upload a new avatar you first have to select the right radio for it, and then click modify. This returns the 'old password incorrect'-error. Which is weird, but you can continue nevertheless. Is this normal?

I then upload a new avatar. The avatar doesn't change (I still see the default), but the new one has been uploaded to the server. The properties of the avatar then/still says it's the gravatar_25.jpg, but I have gravatars disabled.

What could be wrong?

Okay, so I've been checking it out a bit. Still no success uploading avatars, BUT now I know there's no data being updated/written to the 'user_avatar_source' field in the database. Maybe this rings a bell?

Am I the only one having this problem?

Any answer to the password portion of this question?
Right now if the user changes the radio button on the avatar default/upload option they'll get a warning message "the old password you provided is wrong"

Because the profile page is being saved and password info has not been entered at the buttom.

Whats the error message you're getting what happens when you try?
Try .gifs as well as .jpegs and see if one works but not the other. If that's the case make sure you have gdm installed on your server.

I am using Pligg 9.0 and have the same problems with the Avatar system, which frankly is a mess:

1. A password prompt pops up every time because the New Password field is pre-populated; this is a bug and needs to be fixed.
2. After uploading an avatar in Paul01, it never updates to show the new avatar. It does however update in DigitalNature.
3. After I have uploaded a custom avatar, I can't seem to upload any new ones after that point; I'm stuck with either the default avatar or the first uploaded custom avatar.

At this point the biggest problem is the overall interface; when I select "I want to upload my own avatar" a textfield with browse button should appear (or should already exist), instead of forcing me to click "save" (which then leads to the "New Password" bug).

This is very confusing to describe, largely because the interface itself is confusing and buggy. I encourage any of the developers to try uploading a new avatar on my demo site, here:

http://faire-argent.net

... and if you can do this properly, please tell me how - because I'm at a loss to figure out how to do this myself, let alone teach any of my visitors how to do it.

aznbbj, i just registered at your site and uploaded 2 avatars successfully. I don't get that weird password thing you are getting. Try deleting your browser cookies for your site.

Exact same problem here. Image gets uploaded, resized, but information is not put into the database.

Anyone figure out this problem yet? It's really bugging me.
