6.01 bugs so far...

dbconnect.php doesn't exist in libs folder, so can't get past step 2

used old dbconnect file from earlier version...seemed to finish installation but then got this error:

# Are you sure you have the correct user/password?
# Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
# Are you sure that the database server is running?

dbconnect.php is left out on purpose, so you don't overwrite your old one.

secondly, you get that error because something is wrong the content IS correct, right? dbconnect is in the libs folder? is the contents of dbconnect correct?

Aha...well, I'm actually doing a fresh install from scratch. Now I don't get an error..just a blank page. Oh well..I'm sure this will keep me up very late tonight.. I wonder if there are any other files I'm missing if doing a fresh install...hmm...

did you chmod your template_c directory?

I had this problem also, it turned out that my templates_c/ and cache/ dirs weren't writable (777).

Ash has posted a testing script to help figure out which folders are chmodded correctly on this thread:
