[Fixed] problem adding gzip code in htaccess

I'm using php5 and using a CGI binary as a module in Apache 2x server at windows xp, I'm having a problem to enble this code

Code:
php_value auto_prepend_file /home/path/to/begin_gzip.php
php_value auto_append_file /home/path/to/end_gzip.php
I put the absolute file to my apache and thinking it will work but the errorlog shows

Code:
[Sat Feb 10 18:37:17 2007] [alert] [client 202.70.96.132] C:/Apache/Apache2/htdocs/moje/.htaccess: Invalid command 'php_value', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration
what can I do to solve this problem? thanks

Are you already using the .js.gz files? Look in modules/scriptaculous/js/ and see if there are .gz.js files. If you are already using them then the htaccess gzip will give you very little speedup, if any at all. So I wouldn't worry about it unless you aren't already using the gzipped files.

If you aren't using the gzipped files then I think you need to ask your hosting provider about the php_value thing. It might be something they have restricted or don't support.

its on my localhost only, I enable all gzip file there and the only thing I need to enable is the php_value at the htaccess

is there anything needed to setup in the apache server so the php_value will work?

You don't have to enable it in your htaccess. That's just a second method of gzipping.

Are there .gz.js files in your modules/scriptaculous/js/ directory? If there are then you are already using them if you downloaded the latest nightly build on the forum.

yes it has a *.js.gz but when I view the pligg it shows an error on the javascript, it seems the browser cant recognize this .js.gz both in IE6, IE7 and firefox 2

Is your sidebar collapsing? Does modify language and category manager work? If so then gzip is working fine.

btw. for the clearness, if i using the gziped .js files, i dont need any activation gzip compression in files, like adding path to gzip php files in .htaccess? just tested DN compressed files from latest svn, and no speedup noticed :/
