Long Urls won't submit

I'm having trouble submitting long urls on my site - I've looked at mySql tables - and I should be able to submit up to 255 characters in a string (i think). Is there a fix within pligg?

Try to submit: www.shorturl.com (it should work)

next try to submit: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...CCODE=CANEM552

And it won't work? But when i look at the tables in my database using phpAdmin it might show up as a discard (or it might not) - I'm not clear on the logic behind this (the showing up as discard and not at all).

The problem was - and still is - AMPERSANDS! ( aka these thingys "&")

Does anyone know of a fix for submitting URLs with special characters in them? I've already tried one without luck.

I did some testing with the URL you provided, and everything seemed to work except the "title" didn't fill in properly. I took a look at the url source and it's because of some extra <title> tags in the document. I've modified the pligg source a bit and I'm now able to get it to display the right title.

Is there something else that I missed?

You know I'm still undecided about this bug. I'm going to go back and keep testing it and will see what happens.

I have a feeling it has more to do with my hosts database and its slow response time.

Anyway - my other pligg site starocracy.com is going fine (yeah - I know about staralicious.com - and was thoroughly depressed when I saw it. He must have beat me by a few weeks - and his design is top notch. But I guess the net has room for two celebrity\gossip sites after all).
