Duplicate link URLs not prevented in 7.2

It does not appear that duplicate links are prevented anymore in Pligg 7.2. I just tried to submit the same URL on my site and Step1 of submit did not prevent the duplicate. I was then able to continue to fill out Steps 2 and 3 and complete the submission process.

I believe in previous versions of Pligg at step 1 I would be prevented from submitting a URL to a link that was already in the system. Any ideas of what might be going on?

Correct, previous version gave this message:

"duplicate article URL:

please double check the URL and make sure that the article has not been already published
you can vote and comment on the existing article:"

BTW, it should have read "...this article.", this article linking to the story.

Anyway, it seems like you found a bug. Sorry, I don't have a fix... perhaps AshDigg or Savant does.

By default Pligg comes with...

define('Submit_Require_A_URL', false); // require a story URL on submit.

Meaning you can leave the URL field blank. This also means that it doesn't check for dupes (but still should).

If you set it to

define('Submit_Require_A_URL', true); // require a story URL on submit.

then it does check for dupes.

Thank you for the quick response. I made the change and now duplicate checking is working!

On another note, can you provide details on how to get the lag links working again. I saw your bug report about rolling back some search changes. However, I'm not sure I know what that means exactly so I can fix it on my site.
