Two replacement proposals and other suggestions

Hi,

Nice move from Smarty to Template Lite. This will surely turn the system faster without disrupting it too much. Very nice, indeed.

I would like to propose two other moves

1. SwiftMailer - it is faster and more recent than the more popular phpMailer
2. Simplepie - Works much better and faster than Magpie

Those two small changes won't be to hard to accomplish.

If possible the addition of ...

1. Prototype Window Class for registering, login and messaging windowing
2. Automatic Keyword Generator for use with RSS input feeding, but not only
3. Use of external OPML file to load and save the Feed Input links and categories. A nice script to study can be pulled here

And the use of ...

1. iFeedReaders Clicklet Creator and Social Bookmark Link Creator ideas
2. Sociable ideas based on Wordpress Sociable Plugin

Quite like the window class.

Problem is if we implement that some people will say they don't like it and make it optional. and then someone will ask for another class and all these mod's get a bit messy

Maybe the window class is a template thing? Maybe it could be released as a mod that someone can simply apply it if they want.

Yes! This is essentialy a template thing except in what concerns message outputing (like error messages, warnings, etc).

Since you can use the prototype class to execute an http request (AJAX - they have a sample of it) the login and register sectons are rather easy to implement without big coding modifications.
