Main New Features Since Beta 9.9.5
The full list of changes is gigantic, so here are some of the larger additions and fixes since Pligg Beta 9.9.5.
- New Groups Feature. Groups give you a new way to sort content and add a new social networking aspect to your Pligg site.
- New Admin Panel
- New Languages. Pligg currently offers English, German and Thai as installation options. More languages will be automatically added to the list in the near future. Many thanks to those who have volunteered to translate Pligg.
- Security Improvements. We've patched known exploits and have made Pligg more secure.
- Database optimizations to increase page load times and reduce server resources.
- Added "Pages" feature. You can now create static pages for the about page, license, etc.
- User Settings page where logged in users can select which categories they want to see.
- Advanced Search page. More options produce better results.
- Improved CAPTCHA and added email verification to reduce spam bot registrations
- You can now set which User Levels (normal, admin, god) or Groups can submit stories to certain categories.
- Limit the number of votes allowed by an IP address (default is 1 vote per IP).
- Upload module for attaching files and images to articles.
- New category admin panel page
- Admin now sets username and password during the installation process.
- Many SEO updates and fixes
- Future upgrades will automatically make edits to your language file. Now when you upgrade to 1.0.1 it will automatically add any new language items to the end of your language file.
- Related links now hides itself when no results are found
