This version of Pligg focuses on several security threats discovered by third parties (one such party being Sitewat.ch). We have also added a new "Human Check" module, which is used to detect and deter spam articles and comments.
New Features and Fixes
- Large number of security improvements
- New Anti-Spam module "Human Check"
- Submit live story preview
- Added simple error log file
- Admins can now see moderated comments awaiting approval (yellow highlighted)
- Added database size, PHP, and MySQL version information to statistics widget
- When a site requires a story URL, the user cannot remove a URL when editing a story after submission.
- Multiple spaces are no longer counted towards a story character length check on submission. Previously users could just enter in a bunch of spaces resulting in empty stories.
- User profile change of email address now requires your previous email to be verified, and checks it against existing email addresses in the database.
- Moved meta.tpl language items into language file.
- Group stories are now sorted Newest to Oldest. Previously groups were sorted the opposite way.
- Improvements made to email validation, to allow for more character types.
Upgrading
The upgrade process from the previous 1.1.3 release is very simple. Just copy the new 1.1.4 files over the previous 1.1.3 files, overwriting the older files. When that completes run the upgrade script from /install/upgrade.php to update your Pligg CMS version number (and perform other upgrade tasks) to complete the upgrade process.
1.1.4 Template Updates
The following template files were updated since the previous release. We recommend that you use software like Winmerge to compare the Wistie template directories from the 1.1.3 release and the 1.1.4 release to see specific changes.
- header.tpl
- submit_step_1.tpl
- submit_step_2.tpl
- /css/style.css
- /js/story_preview.js (new file)
- comment_show.tpl
- submit_errors.tpl
