editing header.tpl

Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help me out.
I have searched the forums for editing the header.tpl to add img scr code for logo.
I have done this but nothing has changed on my site....i cleared the cache and deleted the files in the template_c folder also.

Can anyone provide me with a step by step procedure of how to do this as I have been trying for the last few days. I am using pligg version 9.9.

You should just be able to use the standard image tag <img src="image.jpg">

Hi Thanks for getting back so quickly.

I have tried that, putting the code in the top of the header.tpl before any other code but nothing works and my page just remains the same.

Can you give me a step by step procedure for doing this? I am sure it is something simple that I am forgetting.
