I'd like to remove the URL from the story submission process entirely. I'm only interested in allowing submission of editorials written by the users, there should be no links to outside websites like on Digg or Reddit.
I've done some searching on the forum and most of the old threads link to content no longer available, such as the single-step submission process.
Thanks for any help.
Best,
px

oh wow, i completely misunderstood how to use the admin section... i didn't realize it supported inline editing. I was hunting around for a config file. thanks!! second, thanks so much for the awesome work on Pligg. third question: how do i remove the Step 1 from the entire process? Just by tweaking my tpl's I presume? I'm trying to make this as hack free as possible so I can easily roll out new updates based on the latest version of Pligg core. |

| Require a URL when submitting description: Require a URL when submitting. value: false default value: true expected values: true / false Show the URL input box description: Show the URL input box. value: false default value: true expected values: true / false That will make it skip right over step 1 of the submission process

How do I make the "Add this link to..." go to the user submission instead of the link provided. Allow me to explain: On my site, Catharticle.com, users submit letters anonymously. The letters are the important piece. However, I would like to give the ability to have supporting links. The problem is that when they enter a link, the "Add this link to..." links the the supporting URL, not the users letter. This, of course, is not good for Catharticle.com nor the users who submit their letters. Thanks for any help :) Ryan Clark [EDIT] OK, I think I have located where in the templates we need to make the edits so that the URL for the user's submission is what "Add this link to..." links to instead of a supportive URL. Navigate to: templates>yourtemplate>link_summary.tpl In the second to the last "if" statement, you will see where the "Add this link to..." stuffs are located. It seems to me that if we change the the correct variables to the ones that reference the user's submissions, we could get the desired functionality! If there is someone out there brave...ahem, I mean, smart enough to give this a try and post their findings, please, please, do! - R [/EDIT] [EDIT AGAIN!] I DID IT! I figured out how to get the "Add link to..." to link to the user-submitted letter vs. some offshore site :D I am going to make a brand new thread to detail my findings...[/EDIT] Last edited by Ryan_Clark; 09-30-2008 at 02:35 AM..
