How to show latest comment in featured box

Is there a way for me to show the latest comments (maybe 5 comments) in the "Featured Box" as opposed to a "story?"

and maybe the avatar of the person making the comment or the website the comment is in reference too?

sort the comment table by date

then display in the feature box........
