Recreate functionality of origianl sidebar in added sidebar

Does anyone know how to make the added sidebar have all the capabilities of the original sidebar?

For latest digitalnature template in pligg 9.1

I've seen the add sidebar forum but it justs add a simple sidebar that can't add the modules.
