Hello RockBottom - pls refer the instructions outlined at http://www.pligg.com/forum/showthread.php?p=20582 and Single step registration + Confirmation e-mail v0.1 to get started.

If you want - i can do it for you at a reasonable price - provided you give me the templated files for modification (PM me if interested), I have latter developed a even better implementation of this that is currently in use with http://memeorlame.com and http://do1thing.net (yet to launch)

I think verifying story submission with captcha is important in order to avoid robots submitting stories.

I was using the Better Captcha system for a while, and got just as much if not more spam than I did previously.

There's a good thread on implementing the solid(er) and accessible Recaptcha service into Pligg.

I've not been using it long enough to see if it's made a difference. I agree that Akismet is a good way to go.

I've read the various threads on CAPTCHA here in the forums and can't quite figure out where things stand in terms of core Pligg functionality. I'm running a test site with 9.8.2 and have CAPTCHA Admin/config param set = true, GD libs confirmed and still don't have CAPTCHA functioning for registration ... I would appreciate any comments, tweaks, etc. that do not require hacks? I really do not want to deviate much from the code baseline, if possible, and need help understand what the baseline is for 9.8.2 in this area.

After more digging, I found a helpful thread for captcha module at:

Captcha v0.1

Bottom line is that I need to add captcha module v0.4 for pligg 9.8.2.

I do not support "captcha" for submission on each story but there should be at least some check up should be done whether the same url is posted or not, if some one try's to post the same article from the same site it would be caught. Anyone could help me regarding this?
