Pligg -> future

I definitely like the idea of Groups as this will help with the social networking of a site. Being able to have people associate with each other on their own is a very valuable feature.

In addition, expanded profiles - pictures, etc. - would be cool. I'm sure a lot of this could be programmed separately, but if it's added as core functionality, with the ability to turn different aspects on or off (videos, audio) or limit (such as 6 pictures), that would be very cool.

A blog feature would be very cool, even though you can integrate a Wordpress or other blog into the template. That way, the owner of the site can expand on their own, without using the digg-like article postings and getting these lost in the general hub-bub of the site. Video and audio postings would be nice in the blog.

What if pligg was just a component/plugin for the joomla content management system and tie it in with community builder etc. Or, maybe as a side project... then again.. enough of those going on eh..

This is more my line of thought, perhaps there's room for both options?

Easy intall Plugin for Pligg like WP mode.

pogung: have a look at the SVN, ash has been working on plugins (called modules in pligg) for the future releases

I don't know if this has been already mentioned, but I think a sort of newsletter could be good. It could be sent automatically to the members, every week or so... and could contain all the new stories submitted within the week.
