Hello guys,
Just was wondering, is it possible to come-up with dynamic $votes_to_publish instead of one that is set from the settings.
Consider Digg, if it is a slow news day, and only few people are online voting (say Sundays or holidays) - since the site is not having any traffic that particular day - some stories should not be still in unpublished queue. So even a story of 25 votes can show up in front page, say it is high traffic day and most active voters - it takes 200+ votes for a story to get published.
That is TRUE democracy of content.
Any suggestions or discussion on this is welcome. If everyone think this feature is important to a framework like Pligg; we can all get started on this.

How do you see this being accomplished though? Do we have a way to monitor what traffic is like that can be used to adjust the votes_to_publish by?

u can always keep a count of number of votes (over all topics) in last 24 hrs and use that. Have a range for votes_to_publish ... min say 10 max say 40. Have a count of last 7 days of votes .. and use that data to determine the value of the votes_to_publish ...

We plan on working on this once we finish the reporting feature. No timeframe at the moment.
