Remove email address from registration?

Is it possible to change things around so that email addresses are not required to register? If so how?

I am using the sitemap module and google returns
"URL timeout: HTTP request timeout
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit."
But in the list of sitemaps it shows hundreds of "sitemap-0.xml", "sitemap-1.xml" etc... as downloaded properly but it also says "Total: 300, Indexed: 0"

feature request : language specific subdirectories

I've put a lot of time in translating pligg to my local language (dutch). However, the url and subdirectory files are still hardcoded in the pligg back-end. For instance "upcoming", "groups", date related url's like "yesterday". I like to have all these URL's in my local language. So this is a feature request for future version to be able to translate all directories, url's.

I'm using RSS importer and tags are automatically generated. I like to know how i can exclude some common words like "and", "or" etc.. out of these tags to get the highest keyword density.

Pligg not working properly | Please help.

Hello,

I installed pligg on my web server and it does not seem to be working properly. I don't think they are bugs because so many websites are working on it. Following are the issues. Can you please help me here.

1. When a user adds a link, title, description. The details does not get submitted and it shows blank.

2. Also it does not redirect to confirmation page after adding link but shows blank page.

3. After log out it does not redirect but shows blank page.

should i reinstall?

Hi. We operate a large wholesale jewelry website called Wholesale Jewelry and Accessories (Wholesale Jewelry And Accessories). I am new to Pligg and had some basic questions.

First, what are the major benefits of using Pligg, rather than one of the many other options available? What sites are best suited to Pligg and from what you can see of ours, do you think we'd benefit?

It's clear to me what the obvious uses of Pligg are, but what innovative ways might this technology be put to use? I mean, how can I use Pligg in novel ways to increase my sales and generate more traffic and better SE ranking? You can give me the straightforward answers, since I'm still familiarizing myself with its uses, but I'd also like some creative uses and implementations. Please remember I'm unfamiliar with the specifics, so make sure to explain yourself fully. If you could try to relate your comments directly to our site, I'd appreciate that feedback even more. Server Error - Modules

Hello everyone,

I've just installed Pligg 1.0.3 and it seems to be functioning well except for one issue. Whenever I'm in the admin area and try to access the modules management page, the server times out and reports a "500 Internal Server Error".

All the other admin functions are fine. Any idea what I can do to correct this error?

Hey guys,

You may not know this, but I love graphs (I do have a degree in Physics after all). So anyway, I got playing around with flot, and I absolutely love it. It's amazing. If anyone else is looking to add some interesting visuals to their Pligg site, it's a great tool.

I don't really have much else to say, I'm really just showing off ;). You can see what I have so far on my Statistics page...

Furthermore, If anyone needs help with the plugin I can probably lend a hand (it was a bitch getting it to work in IE).

changing meta.tpl problem

to non-english (arabian) keywords (i removed english words) but site goes off and only white page is appear.

[HowTo] short urls for stories

I am not sure if this the right place to write a HowTo?
I was looking for a short url to use when submitting my website stories links at Twitter, I don't want to use other services as they may shutdown (or maybe hacked) at any time.
the idea is that instead of copying the full link of the story, e.g:
http://example.com/news/the-long-story-title-here
you use:
http://example.com/s11
where the 11 here is the story id.
First you need to add the following line to .htaccess file , somewhere after ##### URL Method 2 Begin #####

I wrote a separate php file to get the id and redirect to the real link which should be urlshort.php:

upload the php file to the main directory (where Pligg installed)
and try as given in the example above.
Notes:

To get story id move the mouse over the vote button, and check the status bar; you should see something like this:

here it is the second number '84'.
this is not fully tested, just wrote it, I'll report any issues here and if you find problems post them.

Too much SQL queries. how to fix

Hello, I'm using Pligg in my site. I don't have very much visitors (just about 100 per day), but often site generates over 500 queries to MySQL database.

Is there any workaround to reduce quantity of queries? Maybe some module etc?
