a very nice effect , but I think it should be added as an option , and not as a
default setting , that would be more convenient.
thanks for your work .

MooTools Login and Search Module | |||||

Developed by Yankidank Developer Last Online: Mar 2010
I took a tutorial posted on web-kreation.com and came up with this Pligg module that will insert a tab at the top of your site with a search and login link. Clicking on the links will drop down the appropriate area where users can either log in to or search your Pligg site. If you want to see a quick demo of how it works when installed, check out this very crude demo video. Appologies for the quality of the video, I don't have time to make a proper screencast. The ajax dropdown effect gets lost in the video quality, but trust me it's very smooth. To see what it's like on a non-Pligg site check out this demo. This module might mess with some templates because of how it's positioned at the top of your template. For example it works perfectly with my LemonTwist template, but it interferes with the Macblue template and won't go full width with Yget. It also requires that you add some new module hooks to your template which will be standard in the next release. I'll list those below along with where they need to go, they all will be added to pligg.tpl. I believe that only 2 and 3 are required for this module to work, the others were added in for future modules.

Um, the whole point of modules is that they are optional.

Good work, however, this mod will never work with Pligg. It conflicts with prototype. In order to use this module you need to disable most of what powers Pligg, for example, editinplace. I do not recommend trying this mod. Would be cool though.

Incorrect. MooTools works fine with Pligg. I would think that someone with only 5 posts wouldn't make such asinine accusations.

The next version of Pligg has removed most of the javascript from Pligg that caused conflicts, so this module should work fine as long as you don't add a conflicting javascript library to your template manually or use another module that would do the same.

i see the panel but nothing habbend when i click on search or login 9.9.5 pluggedblue

Must be a conflict with another javascript library installed. I'm willing to bet if you disable the scriptaculous effects module it will work, but this will break your admin panel. The next version of pligg has a new admin panel that is less defendant on javascript libraries and completely independent from your installed pligg template.
