how to install new downloaded module

any one can explain me how to upload module.

i know how to enable or disable module but how to install.

please help me

I also require help please. I've installed and configured the module, added and published news etc,. but I can't find where the sitemap goes once generated? Should it end up in the root of the directory or does it go somewhere else?

Hi, new pligg doesn't set the link_modified for new news (it use only when modified), so we have in the sitemap these with date 1970 and freq never (for ex. my last in the sitemap was a page that i modified 2 weeks ago). I think is better if you stamp the date with link_modified if is > link_date else link_date

I have downloaded this sitemap module but i don't know where i have to upload this in my /modules??? and i saw that there is already robots.txt file uploaded so i have to upload this file again in my /modules???

You unzip the file and you'll get modules > xml_sitemaps. Now take the xml_sitemap folder and upload it to yoursite.com/modules. Then login to your site as admin and install the module under admin > modules.

Just go into your existing robots.txt and add

Allow: /cache/sitemap-index.xml
Allow: /cache/sitemap-main.xml
Allow: /cache/sitemap-0.xml
Allow: /cache/sitemap-groups0.xml
Allow: /cache/sitemap-users0.xml
Allow: /cache/sitemap-pages0.xml

That is the only difference between the two files.

Does anyone know how I can change the sitemap frequency to Daily or Hourly? Right now it looks like all the links are set to monthly. I have a video site as you see and I highly rely on my links getting into google, yahoo and other search engines.

Should I change the sitemap freq to daily or hourly seeing that I submit new video/stories all the time? Or should I keep it monthly? I guess my question is does this effect anything??

Also this is the sitemap url I submitted to google... http://www.theviraltrend.com/module....s_show_sitemap Does this look correct?

Please any help on this would be appreciated.
