The Spam Trigger module is a dictionary-based anti-spam module that checks the content from submitted stories and comments and compares them to words from the spam dictionary. If a word from a story or comment matches a dictionary word or phrase then that story or comment will be held for moderation or deleted from the site.

A video will be posted shortly to give a more detailed description of the module and instructions on how to use it.

When you install the module it will populate the Light trigger dictionary with nearly 200 words and phrases to start you off with. Feel free to upload and share your anti-spam lists with others so that we can build a more effective dictionary to fight spam. Please divide your lists up into 3 sections clearly so that users will be able to determine what level (light, medium or hard) the phrases should be classified as in the module settings page. We suggest that you attach .txt files rather than entering in the words into the post content. You can also post your list to Pastebin.com

      ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: This module comes with Pligg 1.0.3 and above.

i uploaded it and don't see it anywhere? Am I supposed to put it in modules or widgets folder? I tried both, but still don't see it?

If anyone can help me with this issue, I would appreciate it. Since upgrading from 1.0.4 to 1.1.1, this module/widget does not work for me either. Simply put, it is still triggering stories to be held for moderation, but I am not getting a notice that there is spam waiting to be reviewed. This wasn't too big of a problem, since I log into my site frequently and just scan the latest 200 submissions for one that's been held - until someone edited a story from a week ago that put it 1,200 submissions behind. I didn't even consider this issue before.

I have uninstalled, deleted, reuploaded, and reinstalled this module and widget, but it's still not working. For the time being, can I simply download and use this original version with 1.1.1 or will it not work properly with this release? I guess I'll test it out... but does anyone know why this doesn't seem to be working properly?

Thank you very much, Chuckroast. Aside from messing up the layout in the admin page a little bit (which I don't really care about), this works like a charm. I really appreciate your help.

Now I just need to figure out how to get the order of the widgets to stay where I want them instead of reordering into one long column when I leave the page.

Once the module is installed look for a settings tab. Click on "settings" and add the words to the appropriate trigger.

See attached screen shot for location of the settings tab.

spam trigger not working after changing Submut URL

    Hi,
I must say this is by far the most important module i ever installed on my pligg cms.

    My question is:
After changing the submit URL in this thread: http://forums.pligg.com/questions-co...-new-post.html the spam trigger does not work anymore for me. How can i fix it?

    Thanx!

i have a problem with this module
i added some in medium trigger, and some in hard trigger, but basically removed most from the light trigger, however on reloading the module in settings, all stuff from the light trigger is still there, well the default values, i am sure its some permission thingie, but which file is the question?

    bump bump

so does after 14 days of silence somebody know how to delete the light trigger words?

I don't know what would be causing this. It's probably not a permissions issue because the values are stored in the mysql database, not in a file. I can't reproduce it so I don't know what advice to give.
