I hope so not2serious! I hope you push yourself -- because it can be done. I think owning a web site can be very depressing at times because we always start off with tons of energy. But then, eventually, somewhere down the road, many of us lose sight as to what our goals were to begin with. This has happened to me plenty of times. As a matter of fact, my site is currently 1.3 years old, and it wasn't until October of this year (2007) when I started seeing the benefits. I actually stopped working on it in July because I felt exhausted. I just left it alone and was actually going to close it down, but my wife told me not to -- she actually begged me not to close it down. So I said I would keep it around until the domain name expired, which was in another year. I never updated it for nearly 3 months, between July and October 2007.
Then, one day I was reviewing my stats. I decided to check up on the old site, as I had not even seen it for nearly 3 months. To my surprise, there was an enormous increase of traffic. Now mind you, the traffic I was getting beforehand was about 30 visitors a day... but it jumped from 30 to 400 daily visitors all of the sudden. I checked back on the logs and it all came in one day, towards the end of September, and just didn't stop. I investigated further because I thought it might be some kind of bot eating away my bandwidth -- but I realized these visitors were coming from Google. After about 30 minutes of shock, I was ecstatic!
This is when I came up with up the idea to switch over to Pligg. I was suddenly "re-inspired" to get back to work on it. From that moment, I never looked back. I increased my sales by 10x, etc. etc. So it can happen -- just keep on working at it.
