Stat tracker

I'm trying to insert some code for my stat counter but I'm not exactly sure which page to do it on. My tutorial says this:

Obviously that's not an option. Any suggestions?

Couldn't you just post it in the footer template?

I'm guessing this from memory what the file name is, but I think you would want to put it somewhere near the top of /templates/all_footer.php if you are using the Smarty version of Pligg (5.1+)

all_footer.tpl is the file... right now it looks like this...

</div></body></html>

Put your code in between the </div> and the </body>

I am running 9.6 and cannot find this file. I added the in the footer.tpl code between:

<div class="footer" style="display:none">

and

</div>

and it works. One issue I have though is that I cannot tell the actualy page that the user was on - I can only see if they were on index.php and story.php (for example). Is there any fix to this?

Isn't story.php and index.php the page they were actually on? I'm not sure if the statistics software will actually show you the query string. For example, story.php?title=This-is-a-story.

If this is the case it really limits the ability to see who is going where on the site. Having the ability to see which stories are popular (i.e.story.php?title=This-is-a-story1) and to capture this data with a third parytn tool (statcounter, etc) would be very powerful.

Why not switch to url method 2? See if the correct urls are recorded then.
