Did you run the install from /install/index.php? Download the /libs/dbconnect.php file and see if the mysql properties are filled in.

The messages are telling you what the problem is. I would check that you have enabled a DB user on your host. Then make sure you are using the correct db name, user and password in your dbconnect file.

OK, who are you hosting it with? Is your database named 'pligg'? Can you give some more details about the setup etc?

I am hosting with ehost.com My database name is "chsn". Pligg is installed in the root directory and I set up the configuration through the install.php file. Let me know if you need more info.

are you sure you don't have a unique database prefix that you are not using?

in my case, any database i create is prefixxed by my username.

ie: my login name is "bunnies" I crealte a database called "pligg" I need to connect to "bunnies_pligg"

make sure you ahve the right connection info.

I am pretty sure all of my database info is correct. I wouldn't be able to install pligg if it wasn't. Doesn't the install file update the database?
