I've just had my first comment box spam - had to happen sooner or later. Didn't expect it one day in, especially as these boards are the only place that know about the site so far :(
They didn't stick html in there seeing it's disabled, all they did was make a comment, and afterwards list two of their URL's:
That's great. I love this site.
http://www.iamaspammer.com
http://spammers-suck.com
How can I disable the use of http:// in the comments area? Or prevent outbounds from there somehow? I don't want to be forever checking over people's comments for spam.
EDIT: I see there's protection in the editorial / submitted story text areas - must be a similar way to fix up the comments box.

Hi Savant, have sent you a PM example. They don't need to add a <a> in at all - all you do is type the URL in the comment box in the same way I can do it here in the forum here: http://www.test.com |

got your pm. here's a little fix for this now. /libs/utils.php in function save_text_to_html comment out this line: $string= text_to_html($string); so it looks like //$string= text_to_html($string);
