search extra fields

Am I correct in thinking that pligg doesn't currently search the extra fields provided for story submission? From the tests I have done this appears to be so.

Anyone know how to change this? Being able to search the extra fields is pretty important for the site I'm trying to do.

Either that or I need the content of certain extra fields to be stored as tags instead.

Any ideas?
