is pligg appropriate for grouphug.us

hello. i run a site called grouphug.us. it gets upwards of 100,000 hits a day and runs a completely custom codebase. i'm exploring the possibility of switching to a more off-the-shelf codebase (read lower cost, more robust) and i'm wondering if pligg might not be the right answer. anyone care to have a discussion on this? i'm also trying to gauge how much work it will be to bend pligg to do what i want. it doesn't seem too far off as it is.

If you need a robust CMS, use DRUPAL.

I took a peek at the site just now...it's kinda funny how the terms of service say you make EVERY effort to make sure people are 18 or older but right on the home page is a message from a girl clearly stating she is only 15 but loves to be tied up and f'd in the A and also forced to suck C.

I would be more concerned about being reported to some agency than choosing a CMS for your site...just my two cents :)

I know of your site and have been caught up for hours reading some of the outrageous confessions on there.

My advice would be for you to look at up and running Pligg sites...they are listed in the forum...and see if you think Pligg could be bent that way, or if you need to tweak the submission guidelines. Since the social nature of pligg is based on voting a story, video, or news to the top, it is not immediately aparent how your site fits...but I don't know what you have in mind.

Besides little install issues because of hosts...I have found pligg to be very stable and customisable....

Good luck...I can't wait to see what is next for your site....
