Can someone tell me which is the better platform?

Pligg or Drupal's Vote up/down modual?

I want to develop a digg like site but add social networking features to it.

Is Pligg scalable ?? I see videosift's traffic growing and they use pligg.

I've not used Drupal for a digg like site, but as you said videosift and others are growing and pligg seems to be holding up fine. It's always improving and there are new features and code improvements happening everyday.

Yes Pligg is fine for digg like sites.
But it could be very useful to integrate Pligg with Drupal.
