IE Problems and Solutions!!!

Why does IE suck so hard? I wish I knew, because it has been giving me headaches since I have technically "finished" my pligg site after tons of tweaking and adding new features. The main problems still exist with IE7 and I can only imagine how awful IE5 & 6 must look.

I have found a solution to the problem that caused the main page to fall below the menu when the screen size was smaller with a Google adsense banner at the top. By adding:
Quote:
#wrapper {
min-width:960px;
}
to "ie7.css", the problem should be fixed.

But what about the following problems that no doubt everyone has experienced, namely:

1. When the mouse hovers between the categories a small color bar comes up with a link to the category below it (see screenshot).

2. Speaking of categories, why does the category highlight ONLY when hovering over the word?

3. For all of the other sidebar boxes, the title and box contents do not align to the right until AFTER hovering or collapsing/expanding the box (see screenshot)

Has anyone found fixes for these problems??

Ah excellent link jitgos, thanks!

As for the new features on my site http://strandalo.us:

1. Display "showing 21-36 of 36", etc... at the bottom of each page.

2. Added new tabs with new functionalities (see screenshot).

3. When you are in any category (be it "all", "wii", "ps3", etc..) the genre (tags) that you click on OR the sorting tabs in the top right will only apply to that category to present the category however the user wishes.

4. Replaced the window title, tab title to display "Strandalo.us / (category_name) ". Sounds simple but gets slightly complex because pligg does not consider the home page as the "all" category.

5. Also replaced the header for every page to display the current category so the user does not get confused.

6. Using the digitalnature template was great but I made a few changes such as decreasing the height of the header menu and the footer.

7. Removed "upcoming" link in the left navigation and the entire "upcoming" functionality of the site so that when every game (or article) is published there is no confusion as to its location. Replaced the upcoming page with a simple html page that graphically lets you choose the category, the link was replaced with "vote for games". *actually removed this link for now to decrease clutter.*

8. A couple features that I (and others) are working on such as checkboxes to choose the tags so a user can choose multiple tags but only from an approved list. Also the ability to display the top 3 games (articles) that people who voted for the currently viewed article liked as well. If anyone can help on these that'd be great!
