Not sure how to do that yet.

You need to change the htaccess and getmyurl function in html1.php

let us know how you get on.

I really wouldn't worry about it. Having the category in your story title will make zero difference to search engines or your visitors. But as Savant says, if you want to remove the category from the url, you'll need to remove the references to it in the story urls - which means changing the relevant parts of the htaccess file and the html1.php file. It might mess up your url structure though, i'm not sure.

With URL Method 2, how can I get this desired URL structure:

www.xyz.com/This_is_my_story_title

It works for me but I get
www.xyz.com/My_category/This_is_my_story_title
OR
www.xyz.com/story/title/This_is_my_story_title

Thanks a lot for your help.

you're a bit annoying...

open up libs/html1.php

find:

Code:
		If ($x == "story") {return my_pligg_base."/story/" . $var1;}
		If ($x == "storytitle") {return my_pligg_base."/story/title/" . $var1;}
		If ($x == "storycattitle") {return my_pligg_base."/" . $var1 . "/" . $var2 ."/";}
