| Upgrade Path for Pligg Vets/Developers So I've been working on my own 9.8.2 yget site for a few months and I'm feeling pretty clever with a few customizations I've made. I've kept a good change log. Looking ahead I'm asking myself this question: "Is there any compelling reason to upgrade to 9.9?" The reason I hesitate to do so is because porting my customizations will not be trivial - perhaps a long weekend (assuming there's no re-work due to schema or other fundamental changes in pligg). I have a gut feeling that I will be glad if I wait until 1.0 or even later to make this move. Any advice from the pligg elders? For example, will I have to go through a 9.8.2 to 9.9.0 anyway to get to 1.0? Or will there be a direct path? That and any big security risks in 9.8.2 that I've missed and should be loosing sleep over. Thanks! |

| My guess is that there will be a direct path - that said, making the move to 9.9 will probably make the move easier than a direct hop from 9.8.2 to 1.0. But...I've been doing some significant modifications to my codebase and haven't found it too hard to move between versions. I use WinMerge to compare codebases. David.
