I'm sure someone has posted this, but I can't dig it up.
I want to set up a test site to upgrade my Pligg installation, mirroring the current installation, but putting it in its own folder pulling from its own database. That way, I can tweak the templates, etc, then take it live without losing any stories.
What I really need to know is which files I change the database and base URL info in.
I know this can be changed through the admin panel on the site itself, but when I did that, it scrambled both the test and live sites.
Thanks ... D

This update is more or less impossible to do..... In my case I try to update my old 9.8.2 to 9.9 (today 9.9.5...) and it's not possible. The better way (and it's not a good way when your works hours in your template) is create a new template . pufffffffffffffffffffff

The update isn't impossible...I did it. I used WinMerge to merge the code. David.
