If you can not connect to the database, then something is wrong in the database configuration or the information you are entering during step one. If you are sure that everything is correct, make sure that libs/dbconnect.php is writeable by setting its permissions to 755 (or 777 depending on your host) so that Pligg can write to it. Try that first and if it does not work then we will proceed. Last edited by sonaro; 03-23-2007 at 01:15 AM.. |

When you create a database you have to assign a user to it (which I assume you already did). Did you give that user full access to the database?

Like kbeeveer46 said. Make sure the username has permission to connect to the DB. This has nothing to do with godaddy.

how do i set these permissions on GoDaddy? i check the admin and all my options, dont see anything. |

The options should be in the same area where you created the database. Their should be a section to create users and to assign those users to certain databases. It should let you choose which actions each user can perform on the database. It's best if you choose "all" or something similar.

I just finished installing pligg on my godaddy webspace. I know that this thread is slightly old but i just wanted to post two images cause it took me a while to find the path to mysql database. *this applies to linux server 1. Once you are in your hosting manager click databases 2.Click Mysql 3. Click your database name ( i highlighted it in pink) ![]() 4.A new page opens with the path to your database, plug that into the setup field and your pligg will install in moments ![]() easy as pie if you need help on godaddy let me know jefferson |
