Blank Page after install

I followed the wiki install instructions (with no errors), and I get a blank page when I visit the site address.

I thought it might be a problem with config.php, this is what I have for the URL's:

// URL's
$trackbackURL = "http://virtenu.dyndns.org/torrop";
define('my_base_url', 'http://localhost'); // the base url to your site.
define('my_pligg_base', '/torrop'); // if installed in a subfolder. lea$

am I doing something wrong there?

what else could be causing the page not to show?

Thanks,
God bless,
-en3r0

I have just tried another install, and yet the same thing happens. I follow the examples exactly. Yet after install, trying to get to the admin panel, or the main page it self gives a blank page...

any idea whats wrong?

Whoaaa! I've got the same problem.

Everything blank. But the file index.php IS on my server. Proof: if I put: echo 'oi'; right under the opening php line and i go to http://www.mysite.com/index.php, the only thing i can see is the word "oi".

For some reason index.php is not working.

I'm on a Apache Linux box. Locally (apache windows) everything is running fine. Please help???

Hey steef, thanks alot for your reply, I tried to chmod both those folders, but it didnt work... So I just decided to chmod every folder to 777 to see if itd work, and it did. I know thats not safe, and I have no idea what folders should have what permissions, so I tried chmod 655 to all folders, and that works too, so that is what it is right now. Anyone want to make a wiki page for what folders should have what permissions? That would be quite helpful.

I was also having problems with a blank pages after installing pligg 7.63. Changing the URL Method back to 1 in the config fixed my problem. (search on htaccess for more info). I'm on a godaddy account and it seems to have problems with url rewriting. If anyone is also on Godaddy and has this working, please let me know!

That would be awesome.

hmm, I wonder if changing my permissions to 655 like you did would solve my problem...
