SQL Error on Login Page After OK Install

I'm having a really wierd problem with the SQL tie-in to beta 7. After a successful install, I get the generic SQL/DB Error -- [
Error establishing a database connection!
Are you sure you have the correct user/password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

when opening the admin login page. I've double and triple checked the dbconnect.php file for the correct db, user and pw but it still won't work. I do know for a fact that MySQL is up and running correctly as there's another db on the site that works perfectly.

Anyone seen this or could offer some help? Even something that would allow me to get a more detailed error message would help. Thanks!

PHP 5.0.4 and MySQL 4.1.16 running on Fedora core 4 if it matters.

Problem fixed by statically defining database info in db.php instead of having it pull from dbconnect.php(which had the same info ironically). AshDigg, do you have any thoughts on what it might have been? I can't imagine that the way variables are referenced would have changed after an upgrade to PHP and MySQL...

I am having a similar problem. Could you please tell me exactly where to insert the info into db.php?
