First Time Upgrading

Hi guys,

I'm just about to run my first upgrade (9.6 to 9.7) and want to clarify a few things.

Please be sure to make a backup of your MySQL databases
and files before upgrading to the newest version of Pligg.
Some upgrades might require that you upgrade your MySQL
database, so please keep backups available.

1. Understood, and I will backup. As a matter of interest, does 9.7 involve a database change?

Note: here is currently no way to import an existing config.php file.
Any manual changes to settings.php will be overwritten the next
time you use the admin panel, so use t to make your changes
instead of manually.
2. I'm a bit confused by this last bit. Does this mean I'm going to lose my admin panel made changes to my sites configuration?

Thanks for your help guys.
:)

maybe someone can correct me but

in the old pligg versions the configurations were stored in config.php. then it was later moved into the database.

I think that's what they mean by "import an existing config.php file".

The settings.php has a few config variables, that you will need to note down and use the admin panel to enter into the database
