How to install another theme

Hi Everyone,

Is there a way to install a new theme or template?

Sorry for a super noob question, but I can't seem to find any tutorial on this topic.

Thanks

I've been searching the whole forum and can't find info on how to change themes on a PLIGG site.
For example, if I want to change the banner on top of the main page, or if I want to add my own "vote" buttons...
Could anyone indicate where to find this kind of info on customizing a PLIGG site?
Thanks...

If you want to customize your site you need to edit the .tpl files in /templates/your_template/. You can edit them like any other html file.

To change the template first you need to upload the template to /templates and then go to admin > config > template and type in the name of the new template you want to use. The name of the template folder is the name you should use when typing it in.

Question html editor?

do I can basically edit the template with any html editor like FrontPage or DreamWeaver, then follow the steps you just told me, right?
the vote buttons are located in the template folder?
If I;m not very html savvy I can start from a template that already exists and change the items like banner, buttons, bars, etc to the ones I created, but keepin the structure of the template I'm using as a basis (as long as I respect the dimensions of the images on the original template and create my images with the same sizes), right?

thanks.. and sorry for the newbie questions...

New Theme

You should easily be able to change the default images (which are in yget/images) as you have stated. But editing the template files (tpl and css files) may be more involved, to understand more check out Understanding Pligg Template Files - which has some good information about this.
