Where is the best place to put in google ads?

Yea i need some suggestion on where is the best place that i can put in those google ads..and in which file(s) do i add the script?Is it the tpl files?...K ...duh i know im dumb .

I think we will have to add it to header.tpl and sidebar.tpl, but I am not too sure as these would be shown on all pages including non-content ones like registration page.....
