Don't trust Alexa Rankings, as it's really easy to improve your traffic rank, by downloading the Alexa toolbar and making your link your homepage.

Still I like Alexa for the traffic details by country information.

Some basic points that may help you:

1. Add stories/content to your site.
2. Establish linkbacks by posting 'insightful' comments on other sites.
3. Pligg is fixing <titles>, metadata, and breadcrumbs, so stay tuned for new versions.
