I created this site for the average joe/jane who wants to learn about beers and see what others think about them too. Sure there are large community sites like ratebeer.com and beeradvocate.com, but these sites struck me as having way too much information and being way too technical about beer. I love beer but I don't really care about aroma, smell, taste, mouthfeel; either it tastes good or it doesn't. And it makes more sense to describe a beer by its attributes (color, weight, etc.) rather than rolling it up into a numerical score.
Finally, none of the sites really have any personality to them. My hope is to attract a wider audience of people and to hopefully make a few people chuckle through the odd lens of myself and another good friend who will be posting on a blog regularly on the site.
Yes, I know Pligg is built for news but I think it may also work for things/products. I still need to tweak the process flow/wording a bit, but for the most part the site is done.
OK, ok. Yes. To the point...
My point for writing this post is to:
1. Announce to the community my Pligg site.
2. Thank all of the people that have made Pligg possible and continue to improve it!
3. Solicit feedback on features enhancements / bugs / tweaks to help improve the site.
4. Provide suggestions on promoting the site (e.g., to digg or not to digg, and when).
So please kick the tires and tell other's about the site!
Thx / Rob
P.S. Thx in advance for not razzing me for dumping non-related topic material in this post.
