For what you are collecting money

Yesterday I saw on the main site of Pligg board text:

Donation Goal

and

Goal amount for this month: 500 USD, Received: 0 USD (0%)

So I want to ask a question. For what you are collecting money. Why should I donate you?

We are going to hire part time help to code for Pligg 4 hours a day Monday-Friday, so the money would go toward a new person working on bug fixes and new features.

I'm about to hire someone to code OpenID 2.0 mods for 9.9.0 release. I'd like to know if you are planning to update current OpenID module, or release included version soon. As if that's the case, I'd better fund you than directly hire a coder.

Even if Pligg collected money for self-pleasure, I think it is still a big O.K. Why? First of all Pligg is already FREE!!!!! Why complained about Pligg collecting donation? *Shrug my head!*

I agree that different donation pools should be setup. ie. I would like to donate $100 just for categories customization (just like digg's customize tab). Or may be we shouldn't call it donate, but to share cost for implementation.
