SuperGu - Digg - legal battles??

Read recently at Supergu site that 3dKiller has received a legal notice from Digg. Non-hyperlink to the original post www(dot)supergu.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2121&postcount=28

Dunno how true it is..

I think this is mostly attributed to use the Digg CSS classes without any modification in his templates.

There has been no progress on SuperGu (personally I feel it is attributed to the personality problems of not getting to work with others of the admins) for the past 8 months. But 3d has made some statements that he is to make some announcements(but he keeps saying it all time)

I am just copy,pasting my thoughts on Digg concept that i posted at superGu forums in here:

Digg has NO patents at all - all they have is a copyright for their site design and a trademark for their company name, so the only way for them to sue anyone is you should have digg as a part of your site name etc, or to use the css of Digg without even renaming and modifying.

The concept of community voting/rating of content is very old ad they cannot sue anyone for that nor they rights to. Slashdot did it and even b4 that many smaller projects existed with similar concept or voting - only that Digg took off and gained a big fame and others failed to do so.

It was his code for supergu, pligg code and notes to some guy explaining what he wanted done with the code...

I wouldn't feel right posting the notes I found here in public, it's not my place. But I can say this, if anyone is following supergu and waiting for the code to be released, the notes make it very clear that he is not going to be sharing his code.
