The new strategy from Google to give link farmers a penalty might bring damage to Pligg as a concept. I think I'm going to remove all outgoing links and focus more on creating unique high quality content.

Hey Johny... I've had my Pligg site on its own domain for about 10 months. I'm a PR 6 (incidentally, the same as Pligg.com, haha). I think before this new round of "slaps" I was a PR5.

It makes absolutely no sense for them to punish link collections or directories, as that's exactly what Google is. If my site's any indication, Pligg sites are safe.

Regardless... the whole PR thing is pretty moot as it's showing to be less and less relevant in SERPs and such.

I checked again and it turned out to be 2/10, which is actually not quite bad for a new website.

If you've got a good niche and a lot of people to add your buttons and stuff to their site, that'll boost the PR in no time.

Since page rank is becoming less important I looked at all the info.

So my Pligg site still has a ton of work to be done it looks like.

my site http://www.earthfrisk.com is just 6 months old so just out of the sandbox of search engines. It was given a PR3. I don't care much for pagerank since it is really all up to Google to play with at their will. My main business site was a pr 6 a few weeks ago and was dropped to pr4 -and we have NO outbound links on homepage and I do not sell any links or advertising on that site. So I look at Google just re-adjusting their own internal settings.
The more I read about pagerank the less interested I am in it even though some are so reliant on it for their advertising.

I just couldn't live worrying about the all powerful search engines taking out my PR when they want. I'd rather do what I've been doing which is advertising offline for my call centers. Although a, looking for high traffic sites now to advertise online, other than google text ads or yahoo - which I no longer use thanks to fraud I came up against in July.
