Paul01 - Pligg 8.2 Bugs

Just downloaded 8.2 and started testing Paul01 Template. I've gone ahead and uploaded to this url for confirmation ( http://www.thewarwiki.com ). Currently using IE, in 1280x1024. URL preview is disabled, as I belive it has it's own share of bugs.
  • Background Image content_top.gif tiles vertically.
  • While mousing over the title a some image appears as noted in the blown up image example.
  • While mousing over some links background of the (faulty) tiled images are obscured and turned white.

Now in Mozilla
  • Background Image content_top.gif does not appear, and instead you see a strange vertical line.

Interesting. The 8.2 version for me works fine on IE beta 7 and Firefox 2.0 RC3 on my own site, but not on your domain. Sorry that I can't publish a direct link to the test site its under wraps for now, but maybe these images will help...
IE 7 beta

Firefox 2.0 RC3

I have the same problem like you have on the cloud page I just noticed, follow link

You only se the top of the letters "Tag cloud"

I thought first it was because i removed "What is plig" box on the first page but you still have it?

I'm still using IE 6, and it seems the majority of browsers are still using it as well. Also the majority of my browsers are sitll using 1.5.0.7 of Firefox. Considering the install works fine, what would cause the browser differences?

Also checked another site http://www.voteanime.com/ in IE, I see the same errors on that site as I do on mine. Except in Firefox, there are no errors, whereas there are errors in the firefox version of my site.

All these bugs have already been posted in the sticky http://www.pligg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2133

Netstar:
1)The tag cloud has the same type of bug the story background has in IE. I have no idea why yet. I haven't had any time the past week to test the template very much. I'm not sure why you only see half of the letters. I can see it all in IE and FF on your site.

2) I'm not sure if we added it in 8.2 or after but top stories now has those links.

Garthlink: Are you sure you have all the files uploaded and FF isn't corrupted? Your site looks fine to me in FF. I see the background normally and I don't see that vertical line

I reinstalled everything again and then it worked. Now im not really sure if it was the latest build that I had installed from the begining.

So my advice is to really check that you have installed the latest version.

Thank you all,

its a great place here

Templates don't effect the Pligg code at all. You can drop 3 templates on version 8.1 and then use them on 8.2 and they will all act the same. Unless you see differences like adding a search box or something like that.

Heya Kbeeveer,

Wasn't sure if the version in that thread was the most recent version. So I downloaded the whole Pligg and used the version in the release software.

I redid the files and re-uploaded them. And it fixed all the errors in Firefox except one. When you mouseover the title, a small graphic obscurs some of the text aproximately 170 pixels in from the begining of the title. Here's the image.

http://img277.imageshack.us/img277/652/error1kd6.gif

As for IE6, the only remaining bug is the background image I belive. I've tried every version of the background-repeat; and no-repeat command to stop it, to no avail with IE6.

I still don't see how you're getting that. Here's a screem shot I just made http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/2...16046g m1.png

It looks the same if you're hovering over it or not.
