Exclamation OpenID - May help integrating with Elgg

I saw Elgg's feature page, and found that: OpenID support - coming very soon!

This is the homepage of OpenID, I guess this may help integrating with Elgg.

Keep watch the integration.

There is a partially finished module that adds OpenID support to Pligg.

Ash´s module allows to log in for classically registered users, i.e. registration via OpenID isn´t possible as well as a kind of action with https addresses.

As far as I understood drivencompassion´s module has full functionality with http adresses but is untested with https and works only with versions older than 9.5 (Pligg + OpenID). Feel free to test it and then you/the community can evaluate whether it makes sense to migrate the code to 9.5+ versions.

It shouldn't be that hard to make pligg have an openID option...

Elgg 1.0 has openID 2.0 support with limited bookmarking function already. If there's any bridge between, perhaps we could use Elgg's openid auth for pligg as well.

But I can't go further as I'm not skilled!!

I just have to chime in on this. As a Pligg site operator would you really want the ability for someone to create a Google ID and then have the ability to spam numerous sites, including yours?
